Showcasing Excellence in Cardigan Welsh Corgis

This fun match will not count toward dogs defeated points for AKC.  As a part of the Three Trails Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of Kansas City independent specialties, this event is intended to educate and entertain judges, exhibitors, breeders and fanciers by recognizing Cardigans with the most outstanding records in the show ring during the previous calendar year.

Judging

Judging will be done by a panel whose members will be secret until the night of judging.  The panel will include one judge from each of the following categories:

1.       Breeder Judge • An established Cardigan breeder who has bred for at least 10 years, having produced or shown as least four AKC Champions of record.  The breeder judge may not own or co-own either a dog in the Top 20 competition, its sire or its dam.

2.       Multi-Breed Judge • A person approved by the AKC to judge Cardigans and at least one complete group.  If this judge is a Cardigan breeder, this judge may not own or co-own either a dog in the Top 20 competition, its sire or its dam.

3.       Handler Judge • A professional handler, either active or retired, who has at least 5 years of experience. This judge must not have shown a Cardigan for an owner of a dog in the Top 20 competition for two years preceding the event.
